FAQ's

To add an athlete to a Group, simply:

      1. Click Edit in the top right corner of the Team Overview
      2. Click Add a Team Member and enter their email address
      3. Athletes will receive an invitation in the Group tab on the Athlete App

Athletes are not automatically added to a Coach’s group when an invitation is sent to them. Athletes may choose to decline an invitation for any reason. If the athlete accepts the invitation, their profile will show in the Coach’s list.

* If an error screen pops up, it means the athlete is not yet registered.

    1. You will begin to see acute insights after athletes enter their data for 8 consecutive days, and chronic insights after they enter their data for 28 consecutive days.
    2. Encourage your athletes to complete their daily survey every day for the most accurate acute and chronic insights.

Our team will set up your account and provide you with your login information. Once you install Iris Coach, you can invite an athlete to your Group(s) and view their environmental and genetic data (See “How do I invite an athlete?”)

    1. Click Edit on the Team Overview screen
    2. Click Add a Team Member enter their email address of the athlete you’d like to add to the team.

A:C TL stands for Acute to Chronic Training Load. A:C TL is a helpful way to quantify the fatigue-fitness relationship.

  • Higher ratios imply a recently higher training load than the athlete is accustomed to and they may be experiencing fatigue. Fatigue may interfere with their capability to perform.
  • Lower ratios imply the athlete is in a rested state, and capable of expressing whatever fitness they have developed up to that point.

The percent values represent the deviation from an athlete’s average reporting (normal). The further away from 0%, the more abnormal the response is considered.

For instance, if the athlete recently reported higher soreness than their average, it might show up as:

The colors indicate whether the difference is positive or negative.

  1. Orange or red indicates the value has moved away from the average in a negative direction
  2. Green indicates the value has moved away from the average in a positive direction

For instance, if you see +80% in soreness, it means the athlete is more sore than average.

Ideally, athletes complete the daily survey first thing in the morning. At a minimum, athletes should complete the survey before training. This gives you the chance to adapt your training approach to their current physical and psychological state, suggest therapy if necessary, and/or provide other coaching feedback as necessary. Encouraging athletes to make this a habit early on will establish a sense of commitment to their goals, and create a strong basis of data from which to make responsive training decisions.

The survey takes under a minute to complete.

    1. For most accurate results, athletes should be entering data every day. If an athlete is consistently missing data, you may experience loss of insights, and eventually, N/A may appear.
    2. There is currently no way to enter data for a day in the past. Athletes may only enter data for the current day.

The Watchlist is Iris’ unique way to alert coaches which athletes may need their immediate attention, highlighting the most critical insights. It’s an early warning signal that the athlete may benefit from the coach’s expertise in order to continue performing optimally.

Absolutely. Iris requires 8 days of data entry for acute (short term) insights, and 28 days of data entry for chronic (long term) insights. The athlete can begin the daily habit of entering data as soon as he or she downloads the app. When the genetic data is processed and available in the app, the accumulated daily insights will become even more powerful and useful.

Iris does not currently integrate with other technology; however, we are exploring ways to make the experience even more powerful and simple.
