Uploading a Data File
Learn how simple it is to upload your 23andMe or AncestryDNA data files.
Finding Your Data
It’s easy to find your data and upload it. If you’ve already had your DNA tested by 23andMe or Ancestry.com, it’s as easy as downloading your data file and uploading it to our website.
I'm an AncestryDNA Customer
Log in to your Ancestry account.
Click on ‘DNA’ from the top navigation tab and then select ‘Your DNA Results Summary’.
Click on the ‘Settings’ gear icon on the right side of the page.
In the ‘Actions’ box on the right, click ‘Download Raw DNA Data’.
A new box will pop up. Enter your account password. Read the disclaimer and check the ‘I Understand’ box. Ancestry will send you a confirmation email to authorize the download.
When you receive the email, click ‘Confirm Data Download’. This will take you to a new screen.
Click the green box labeled ‘Download DNA Raw Data’. Your download will begin.
I’m a 23andMe Customer
Log in to your 23andMe account.
Click on your name in the top right corner, and then click ‘Browse Raw Data’ from the drop-down menu.
Click on ‘Download’.
Scroll down and click on the blue ‘Submit request’ button.
23andMe will send you an email. Follow the instructions in the email to complete the download.
Uploading to Athletigen
No Data File Linked
Once you have created an account, you will notice in the top right corner of the screen a red status light that reads ‘No Data File Linked’. This means that your account does not have a data file attached and you will need to upload your data file before viewing your reports.
Uploading and Linking Your File
Click either one of the buttons in the ‘Getting Started’ banner at the top of the screen or clicking the ‘Upload File’ button located next to your file status in the top right corner. When clicked, a modal will appear asking you to upload your data file. Choose your data file from your computer. Once you have chosen your file, click the ‘Upload’ button to finish the process.
Once your file has been successfully uploaded, you will notice the red status light has changed to green and the status reads ‘File Linked’. You are now ready to start downloading your reports! If you have already purchased reports, you will notice the ‘Download’ buttons will now be green.
